Sociology, Technology and Innovation Minor
What is the Sociology, Technology and Innovation Minor?
Broadly speaking, Sociology is the study of society, relationships, and institutions with the goal of understanding how social and cultural structures are shaped by human actions, beliefs, consciousness, and relationships. The Sociology minor affords students the opportunity to explore a wide range of issues such as the nature of gender identity, racism and class, their impacts on societies and communities, and personal relationships related to romantic love, family, and faith. Studying Sociology will help students to think critically and analytically about human social life, looking beyond views that are often taken for granted in day-to-day interactions. The Sociology minor is available to all students in any major program at our university. The minor consists of seven courses or 21 credit hours, which includes two mandatory courses and five elective courses chosen from the list below. A cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in minor courses is required to successfully complete the minor.
