Ridgeback Ramp Up
Ontario Tech provides incoming students with the chance to initiate their university journey by participating in faculty-specific modules and live workshops during the summer prior to the commencement of their studies. Active study strategies, common assignments and critical thinking, learning online, managing university expectations, mindset and resilience strategies, navigation tools for the library website, planning and time management, writing and research skills, and a wide array of topics are all introduced to students in this program. This program leads students to gain confidence in there university journey and overall abilities as students.

STRIDE
The Student Learning Centre offers students a wide array of services to help them plan for success and improve their academic performance. Such as STRIDE learning skills workshops which helps students develop learning strategies and study skills. The program is designed to help students determine appropriate academic learning strategies, demonstrate awareness about what you think and learn, discuss self-management strategies, and identify strategies to increase resilience.

Procrastination Workshops
Procrastination is a common experience for the majority of students. Ontario Tech University understands this and attempts to involve students in the battle against procrastination by means of workshops, awareness weeks, and other initiatives. Student life is there to help students learn techniques to fight procrastination.

NOOL
Nool is an online academic resource that is provided by student life. It provides a diverse array of tools, including videos and tip sheets, in the areas of writing, math, science, and study skills.

Writing Room
Writing support is available to undergraduate students and graduate students at any stage of the writing process through same-day consultations, one-on-one appointments, and workshops. University writing is vastly different from most writing that students entering the program have done, and the writing centre is there to help students adjust to the differences and offer advice on any part of the process. The goal is to help students develop skills in writing, not to proofread their work.

Peer Tutoring
Ontario Tech University recognizes that students may require additional assistance to comprehend the course material. Consequently, all students are provided with peer tutoring, peer-assisted study sessions, and other resources through the student life program. The peer learning program is intended to provide academic support that is customized to the needs of each student. This is achieved by providing students who have already mastered the material the opportunity to collaborate with other students in order to enhance their content knowledge and refine their skills in the relevant field. Some of the services that are offered by peers include tutoring, writing support, study skills, peer pods, and peer-assisted study sessions (PASS). They each provide distinctive services that are guaranteed to enhance your university experience.

Career Centre
Ontario Tech University is dedicated to ensuring that students succeed in their academic pursuits and in their future careers.
