The Lie Lab
The Lie Lab conducts research on deception detection and interviewing techniques from social and cognitive viewpoints. The goal of The Lie Lab is to use approaches that will aid in the development of training and policy.
Team
The Lie Lab research team is headed by forensic psychologist Dr. Amy Leach, whose research and expertise fall in lie detection, confession and interrogations, eyewitness memory, and wrongful convictions. The team also consists of graduate and undergraduate students.
Current Projects
Currently, The Lie Lab is conducting research on the impact of language proficiency in the interrogation process. Investigating the impact of non-native language use on witnesses' deception capabilities and observers' detection of that deception.
