Policing in the 21st Century
Policing is a key aspect of the criminal justice system and society. As society becomes more globalized and technology becomes more pervasive, the police must adapt to the changing times. Contemporary policing means using new technologies, adjusting to budget constraints, and finding ways to ensure policing is conducted in a fair manner for all. Our Criminology faculty examine such policing topics as citizen attitudes toward the police, police power, social media use, and policing borders.
