Terrorism, Hate, and Surveillance
The roots of terrorism and hate are multifaceted but can be explained through social, political, and economic contexts. Strategies for addressing terrorism and hate often entail state surveillance as well as legal and non-legal strategies. Our Criminology faculty work to highlight these strategies and the impacts terrorism and hate have on its victims. The Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism at our university is affiliated with our Criminology program and works to advance awareness, understanding, and prevention of hate, bias, and extremism.
