Take Five
The Take Five program will provide you with the skills and resources necessary to achieve academic success in your first year at Ontario Tech, while also giving you an opportunity to earn a 5% bonus on one of your final grades.
This program is open to all new, first-year undergraduate students in the faculties of Social Science and Humanities and Education (please note that this does not include new advanced entry students in these faculties). Eligible students have the opportunity to complete this program twice – in both the fall and winter semesters of your first year.
To earn the Take Five bonus, you must complete the five activities below by the end of the regular lecture period of the relevant semester. Participation is tracked automatically by your academic advisor.
Note: Credit will not be awarded for partial completion. This bonus is only eligible for the courses specified below, and where a student has already achieved a passing grade without this bonus. Successful participants will be contacted by Academic Advising after grades and standing have been released for the relevant semester. For any questions regarding this program, please contact firstyear.fssh@ontariotechu.ca.
